It works for one of the members here. That's how he got his to stop. I don't see how it works either, but he swears by it.

While this works for some, just the opposite works for others, like me! Keeping my chin tucked against my chest pinches off the entrance to my esophogus, preventing air from entering my stomach. This can be achieved by putting an extra pillow under your head while sleeping on your back, or simply tilting your head down while sleeping on your side.

These are not comfortable sleeping positions, but keep in mind that they're temporary. After a while I stopped swallowing air and was able to return to more comfortable sleeping positions.

My doctor prescribed a BiPAP for me because I was swallowing too much air. This machine lowers the pressure during exhalation by an even larger amount.
