GOOD morning !
Best night so far... 10 days in a row using my new friend... best numbers yet... AHI = 3.06 and I worked 12 hours yesterday with out a nap.... Wish I had done this long ago... Still nursing a sore nose, from the pillow s mask, Any input? Just a small area under the nose, not quite at the tip...

RE: GOOD morning !
I had the same problem with the pillow mask, a real sore nose.
Switched to a Full Nasal Mask, what a difference! I had to try several to see what fit the best and decided on the "ResMed Mirage Activa". It's amazing how the CPAP machine can change your life, for the better.

Hey, not bad at all... 3.06 is well under 5.0, so that's good. On the nose issues, I still have those type problems and I've been on CPAP since 2004... but I have drier skin that most folks. There are some things you can do about it. Make sure your nasal pillows are not overly tight and "smashed" up against your nostrils. Also, I use a small amount of extra virgin olive oil on my nostrils before bedtime... seems to help with this sort of thing. Others have used different types of moisturizing lotions with good success. I've even used triple antibiotic gel-type ointment on my nose when it got really bad. Some say you shouldn't use petroleum based stuff with the mask rubber, but I haven't noticed any degradation of the rubber at all, and I've done that several times over the past year. Maybe I'm just old and blind and can't see the damage perhaps. Maybe others can offer some additional suggestions. Glad your therapy is starting to work... generally, it gets better with time, and the key is to keep at it and don't give up too soon.

My father swears by the Activa also... seems to "float" over your face with very little tightening needed. Most people way-over tighten their mask straps and most masks are designed to "float" upon your face not be smashed up against it. Some have found that generally, full-face masks do have more leaks (because of the greater surface area that's touching your skin). That could lead to a higher AHI overall... but it's a trade off for these types of things, sometimes.

RE: GOOD morning !
Bravo! Sorry, no tips about the nose-I use a different type mask. You're doing great and no telling how many people will be encouraged by your post. Please keep us posted on your progress.
