General Software Questions
I have use CPAP machine for about 19 year until my first machine died,  it took about 2-3 months to get my new machine  "AirSense 10 Autoset"  What a change ,  now I can collect data, but I am new to this as I have not had this machine for a month yet.   Do I need to wait for some period of time before I start to use software to read the data on the SD card.   Also what Software should I download sleepyhead or the one for my machine???   Please let me know what is best as far as what they each do, options, best one to use.   Looking forward to better understanding my profile.   I know just before I got this machine my AHI was 74 and my O2 sat would fall to 65 percent.  I was exhausted and had a very hard time to stay awake.

RE: General Software Questions
Hi c2workout and welocme
First of all, you'll need the clinical manual for your machine so you know what needs to know about different features of the machine
Here is explained in pictures and a link to how to get for the clinical manual
http://www.apneaboard.com/resmed-airsens...setup-info

The screen sleep report is quite comprehensive but will need to change "Essentials" to Plus so all the relevant data displayed, also "Period" to "1 Day", 1 Month is default and whenever the machine turned off at the wall outlet, will go back to default

As for software,  ResScan and SleepyHead support AirSeense 10, Link http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Forum-P...-and-Links
You can download the data anytime and as frequent as you wish (preferably within 1 month, so no detailed data is lost as the A10 SD card doesn't store more than 30 days of detailed data on my estimate), just ensure the SD is inserted into the machine, otherwise detailed data doesn't get scored

my clinical manual barely described most of them
some it didnt mention
and did not really explain what all the things did or how to set them

is there a good book that explains all the terms and features and tells how to find the right settings best for the person using it ?

Your best bet is to download SleepyHead software and organize and post you data in this forum as described in the links below. There are members of this forum who will be of more help to find the right settings than any book you may find.
Download OSCAR

Organize Charts
Attaching Charts

Mask Primer
Soft Cervical Collar

For a glossary of terns and acronyms look at the Wiki Apnea pages.  The link is located at the top of the page as well as I have listed it below.

RE: General Software Questions
Thank you all for replying,   As I did load the Sleepyhead software and found it to be great,   Very easy to use, but I quickly saw that I needed to do some research for may of the terms as you all were very helpful to let me know that would be my first task to learn.

I do have a few questions about my CPAP machine as far as the data it collects.  I am using the AirSense 10 Auto and the SD card seems to be about a 4GB card and not sure how much data it will hold before it starts to write over the oldest entries.   Will is collect a months or years worth of data.

Also for the Graph data what is the sampling rate that it records at (  how many samples/second).     Sorry for all the newbie questions,  but nerdy me is in my glory now that I can see all my data now.   I would like to add  a pulse/oximeter information if this is possible as well.

Where does my CPAP  machine rank/compare to other CPAP machines today, as far as today technology

Just curious.

RE: General Software Questions
The Airsense 10 Autoset is a good machine. Its a recent model and is data capable, plus can run in autoset mode, or if it works better for you, can work in a fixed pressure CPAP mode.

I might be biased ... I have one too!
