Getting a new BiPAP

Getting a new BiPAP
Hi everyone,

I'm looking to get a new machine to replace my Resmed Aircurve 10 VAuto but I can't physically travel 300km to the nearest walk-in shop.

I need the machine to have a very specific setting. I need to be able to set the length of breathe in and breathe out time myself. Right now the VAuto cuts short my breathe in's and starts blowing air as if i have apnea before i even finish breathing out. Doing "shu shu shu shu shu" on me. Resmed guys will know what i mean.

Can anyone with Dreamstation or any other BiPAP see if they have such an option?

Many thanks!

RE: Getting a new BiPAP
I have a Resmed VAUTO and I'm not sure what your talking about. The VAUTO has more ways to adjust breath than the DreamStation and probably any other BPAP on the market. Have you downloaded the Clinic manual and read through it? It's available in the member's private files section.

Hi Crowtor. I second WW's comments - your machine has the facility to adjust the trigger, cycling and inspiration time to suit your particular breathing pattern. If you haven't already done so, get hold of the clinician manual for your machine, available here: https://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-p...tup-manual  There is a brief description of trigger, cycling and Ti on P5 & 6, and more detail on P13. With these parameters optimised your problem should be fairly easy to resolve.

I didn't know you can get a clinicians manual. I've setup my device myself based on my S10 AutoCPAP. I just got the manual mailed and I can see VAuto has so much more then Dreamstation. Though there's no direct setting for EPAP Ti(Only IPAP Ti) I guess I gotta fiddle with Resp. Rate, Rise Time, Trigger and Cycle and hopefully get what I need.

Thanks!

If you have a long expiration time, it helps to set TiMax to a shorter time. Default is 1.9 to 2.0, but you can adjust downward. You will want to set Cycle on more sensitive and trigger on less sensitive. Here is Resmed's recommendation for your situation: https://www.resmed.com/us/en/hospital/di...s-niv.html
