Global warming nonsense

If governments and the all good do-doers want to save the planet ... Go ahead but why the tax so everything have to cost more.
To reduce what they call carbon emission have to reduce consumption because the more we consume the more it create pollution to manufacture and transport those products to consumers worldwide. As we,re not going to reduce consumption anytime soon ... all this spin about greening and saving the planet to do with destroying our manufacturing and rely more on foreign imports so we all can be happy little Vegemite Too-funny

It's all about controlling the people world-wide and eating out their substance and has NOTHING to do with the environment.!

Well Trish, are we related? You sound just like me! LOL! Whether global warming is a crock or not we will see. I'll leave my personal opinion that says they are full or crud out of this and say that one of the big pushes in the USA is to retire your old gas-guzzling car and replace it with one of those Hybrid or Electric cars. That is all well and good, BUT.... those batteries go bad at some point and have to be replaced. Now we have a host of hazardous materials to deal with. No, sorry, it is all self-interest!
As always, YMMV! You do not have to agree or disagree, I am not a professional so my mental meanderings are simply recollections of things from my own life.

Hi mj, Yep, that's ALL it is, self-interest, for sure. The thing is, they have to try to sell a lot of people on the fact that WE are causing all this crap in order to control us, (you know, good ole' public buy-in.)

Let us not forget the bull about "carbon credits"! The money being paid for carbon credits is going in someones pocket, not to clean up the environment! I've even seen a couple of larger companies offering to sell carbon credits on their website! R U serious! Of course it's to help protect our environment!Laugh-a-lot

The real greenhouse gas is water vapour which had an ~98-99% effect on the environment. Other than for money and power, I can't see any reason to worry about a gas that has less than 1% effect. Also when you have high CO2 levels you have much greener trees because that is their food. If you look closely at the slides in that stupid movie... the slides show a total opposite effect to what he was telling you the data was showing. But of course you cannot tax water vapour.

CO2 = good for trees and plants ... how does that make it bad for the environment??

Everything costs more = fewer people will buy things
Fewer people buying things = more people out of work
More people out of work = more people starving
More people starving = more people dead
More people dead = less CO2 output.
Less CO2 output=saving the world

I guess it does work after all.
