H5i adjustment
My last humidifier could be adjusted to increase or decrease the humidity. Can the H5i be adjusted on an S9 Vpap auto machine?

Hi stan,
I don't see why it couldn't be adjusted but hang in there, someone will be able to help you shortly. Best of luck.

Keep an eye on your water levels with that humidifier. Some folks (like me!) tend to run out of water.
Cheers!

I have developed the habit of opening the humidifier lid when I get up in the morning, at the same time that I pull out the SD card to take to the computer. When I go to bed at night the open lid reminds me to check the water level before crawling under the covers.

I ended up changing to an HC150 humidifier. It holds 600ml in a pinch. Enough to last 8+ HOURS.

JJJ, What does the H5i setting mean? Is that the room temperature or is it some other temp? I've seen that the humidity level is preset for the desired temp. Is that right? I live in a dry climate, Las Vegas, and I have a little water left in the tank in the morning so I assume that I have a good setting. Just don't know if it could be better. Cheers, VegasPier

Is that right? I have mine set to 1.5, and it seems more than adequate. In fact, I'm thinking about lowering it. Maybe I'll just turn it off completely. In my climate the humidity is 70-90% in the winter, unless it goes below freezing for an extended time. But that might happen for maybe one week out of the winter. In the summer the humidity rarely goes much below 50%. Plus, I seem to have inherited a nose that doesn't need much humidity. As far as I know the setting merely adjusts the temperature of the heating plate under the tank. The higher the setting the higher the temperature, thus water evaporates more quickly. At my setting a tank lasts me about a week or more. I suspect that if I was in a drier climate the evaporation rate might be faster, even at the same setting.

I did not realize that you could leave the water in the humidifier for a week. I was under the impression that it had to be changed every day.
