[Health] Prediabetes

RE: Prediabetes
Another great point. I just know a few that accelerate to get thru the yellow.
Dave

I'm not a doctor in real or fictional life. My posts include opinions based upon user experience regarding CPAP therapy and should not be considered medically professional direction or advice. Even a 1,000 mile trip requires a good first step. My recommended first steps include getting good walking shoes, 1 great cup of coffee, and a good GPS.

There is no one specific day or week or even month that you can point to and say "On this day I wasn't diabetic, and on the following day, I became a diabetic".

It's not like a virus (where one day you're virus-free and then the next day you get infected by someone with a virus).  A virus is more like an "on/off switch" (you either have the virus or you don't), but diabetes doesn't work that way.

From what I understand, like many physical conditions, becoming a diabetic a process not an event.

And then, apparently one can reverse the condition and become non diabetic by special diet and losing weight. Very recent BBC programme to do with one's real body age as compared with chronological age followed various individual's 12 months of 'treatment' with exercises and different diets. A lady who followed a specially devised diet of 800 calories per day for 12 weeks reversed her diabetic condition.

Logically, I don't regard that as being cured. Your body still has a problem processing blood sugar/insulin. You're just lowering your intake to a level that your body will tolerate, but the problem still exists. The severity and type of diabetes would have a direct effect of this type of treatment.
