Hello - Help with REMStar Pro and Sleepyhead

RE: Hello - Help with REMStar Pro and Sleepyhead
EncoreViewer is very much like EncoreBasic. There's no difference that I can see for the typical end-user patient. For a DME there are extra features in EncoreBasic that would probably be useful.

Stepping up to EncorePro allows a DME to store a patient's data "in the cloud" so they can access it from different computers.

Personally I find SleepyHead to be a much better product.

Encore Basic shows you airflow waveforms. Very useful info, even for the typical end user patient. In particular if there are problems, to show the user how long the apnea is, etc.

However, Encore in all versions, does s*ck, especially compared to SleepyHead.
Get the free OSCAR CPAP software here.
Useful links.
Click here for information on the main alternative to CPAP.
If it's midnight and a DME tells you it's dark outside, go and check it yourself.

DMEs and doctors can get Encore Basic or the latest versions of Encore Pro, which do work with the Series 60 machines.

Can you zoom in on the waveform and actually see how long the event lasts?!

Edit: Ok, I see that you can zoom in on the waveform, but it's a lot more cumbersome than SleepyHead.

Yes I would love if SleepyHead would work with the Series 60 machines & the airflow waveforms are nice but I would like to how SleepyHead compares as far as waveforms in EncoreBasic.

RE: Hello - Help with REMStar Pro and Sleepyhead
In SH you start with a view of the waveform for the entire night. At that scale you cannot of course see the individual waves, but you do see the flags indicating events such as CA's, OA's, etc. Each time you click on the graph at a location you zoom in. Right-clicking zooms out. You can also zoom with the mouse wheel.

To the left of the graph is a panel of text. You can see a summary of each type of event, the time each occurred, and the length of each event. If you click on one of the events you automatically zoom in on the waveform at the location of that event.

It's much more sophisticated than EB.

Here's some information on where to find and how to install the patch that will allow SleepyHead to work with the Philips Respironics System One Series 60 machines.
