RE: Cleaning my cpap after exposure to smoke
Hi, I have the ResMed AirSense10 which I received from a friend, but had a horrible smoke nicotine smell , at first I cleaned all the plastic and silicone in the water tank and the hose connection with water vinegar mix 50/50 , eliminated the smell from those parts after a 30 min soak , so I tried the machine ,,, still same horrible smoke nicotine smell of before ,?? So I got thinking what's the fan cased in inside the machine , I took everything apart , there are more plastic housing and silicone vibration around the electric motor, and these parts were even more smell of nicotine and smoke than the seals in the outer machine , so I dismantled everything and pit all plastic and silicone parts as well as a foam circle in the water vinegar mix for 1 hour ,. It 99 percent perfect , the motor blades had a little smell but as I write this I'm on the machine breathing, at presure 10 , humidy 2 , I do not smell any nicotine smell or smoke smell. Hope this helps .
