Help, new diagnosis
#11
RE: Help, new diagnosis
Most CPAPs have humidification which really helps dry mouth and throat. Since starting therapy in January, I have been able to sleep with my mouth closed and the dry mouth and throat went away almost immediately. CPAP is something you need to carry on for air travel -- but in the US at least, medical equipment does not count towards any limits on carry on luggage.

As for what machines to get, ask to have one fully data capable that monitors your therapy, not just the hours of usage.

Beyond equipment, there are lots of tips from long time users in the forums -- so do spend sometime reading about others experiences for tips on accessories, masks, cleaning and assorted other topics.
