Help w Oscar and results, computer illiterate

RE: Help w Oscar and results, computer illiterate
My previous amazing pulmonologist In SC realized that, I believe. He started me in 2003 with C-Flex to see if the expiry decrease made CPAP bearable. Lasted 2 weeks before my first VPAP III was issued. We have managed the disease/breathing along the way. I have always been prepared for a back up rate unit, but I would need proof like OSCAR results to give the family doc Medicare proof.
Covid has made reaching my SC dr as he is an ICU specialist first and a bit busy, impossible. He was going to work with me on the VAuto settings mid February but didn’t happen.
Thanks again, appreciate the input

RE: Help w Oscar and results, computer illiterate
Update: half a night at PS 5 and I wasn’t getting an inhale fast enough and again, slowly starving for air. Changed it to 4.6. No change. After being awake nearly 48 hours I set it back to PS 4. I slept fine. (Not perfect, but slept)

Then I called my previous SC Pulmonologist and they will do a virtual visit in mid October. He is very well informed about OSCAR and the best Dr. I’ve had so far. We will go over the current OSCAR results and since he prescribed the VAuto, won’t be surprised if he prescribes the Aircurve ASV. Anything to be aware of when switching to a back up rate? Thanks y’all, and I will keep trying.

If I understand correctly, changing PS is not going to change the maximum inhale time.  You need to set the TiMax setting to a higher(longer time) value. Otherwise, the pressure will drop to the exhale value while you are still trying to inhale.
