Hi From an Old Member
Stopping by to say hello. I haven't been here in a long time. Today I had the opportunity to refer an acquaintance new to CPAP to this great site. It is very valuable to newbies, oldies, and family/friend supporters. Thought it was time to stop by myself.

I haven't been here in a long while with other things going on. I retired, spent the winter in the south away from the brutal Western NY winter, moved our daughter to two major cities in 6 mos. to pursue her graduate studies and she began a new job, my Mom passed away and my Dad has needed a lot of help now on his own after 63 years of marriage and quite elderly himself. We took him on a trip out west to some National Parks earlier this summer.

I am still CPAPing. Sometimes I think when someone has disappeared from the board for a while, others wonder if one has given up on the CPAP. I am still at it. Still has it's ups and downs but mainly it is just insomnia. Sleep is good quality once I get there! I suspect a lot of that is attributed to all that has been going on in my life over the last few months.

I have taken up painting as a retired hobby. On canvas ... not houses SHa_biggrin5 And looking into a part-time job that has mobility. Getting away from the winter weather again this year and taking my Dad with us.

Thanks for all you do here on this great site!

ImaSurvivor,
WELCOME BACK.!
It's good to hear from you again and it sure sounds like you have been busy, keep it up. I'm sorry to hear about your mom passing away and I know your dad must miss her terribly. It's good that you took him on a trip and help keep his spirits up.
I know you are very busy, but don't stay away so long.

Congrats on your retirement. Glad to know that you are okay. Sorry for your loss. I did send you an email quite some time ago and didn't hear from you. Hope your family and your dad continue to do okay. Loss of loved ones is a hard thing.

Thanks me50. I didn't see an email from you. So sorry I missed that. I did see notice of being removed from Advisory Member status. It was overwhelming for quite a while. My Mom was pretty ill for several months before she passed and on hospice in the end. Dad needed a lot of help with all the mountains of paperwork with insurances, medical bills, etc. With my retirement, my routine and what email I checked the most changed too. Things fell through the cracks. My insurance also changed with retirement. Coverage is still okay to get supplies but copay has changed as well as timeline for gettng new supplies. Good to see some old friends here!

Howdy Ima... good to see you here again and good to hear you're still CPAPing!

I tried to take up oil painting several years ago. Created some "okay" stuff, but my painting supplies are all in a box in the garage and are probably dried up by now. Sorry to hear about your mom.

Good to hear that you've retired and hopefully can move on to things that you like to do!

Coffee

Hi SuperSleeper,

Good to be back. I have been painting with acrylics and like the easy cleanup. I may upgrade to better quality acrylics as I get better. My daughter and I took it up together. She was able to spend some time with us in between her moves and be around while my Mom was ill. Have been doing surprisingly well with the painting. Find it relaxing and rewarding.
