Yes, if you have private health insurance that cover extras, things like CPAP, the rebate, vary from insurance to another
Otherwise, you're on your own under the mercy of the rip-off merchants

If OP without insurance ... I suggest and recommend this machine from Supplier #2 (the supplier list link is at the top of the page

New, Zero Hour (Open Box) ResMed S9 AutoSet and Accessories US $699
Add shipping cost and AU$ conversion, comes to less than $1100 AU approx

Cheers Zonk that got my attention for sure but.

1/ I liked the deal directly below for the s10 Auto

2/ how does warranty work if purchased from US

3/ does the power pack have an IEC connection so I am not limited to using a US to AU adaptor

4/ is the internal modem the same for the US will it work here even that I won't be using it

5/ and $400 for shippingThinking-about

6/ Do I need a prescription

Sorry question overload.

Hi ramjet
I'm not aware, they ask for prescription from foreigners, just from the locals as its mandatory in US
In any case, if asked, send them one, so they can set the machine for you, most cases left in defaults and you can set it as you wish when delivered ... things like pressure settings, Ramp or EPR if needed, temp C, local time and date ....

Shipping is about US $75, approx AU $110
They give you, 2 years warranty on new machines but the machine have to be shipped back for any warranty issues
I think, the risk is worth taking but I only speak for myself .... buyers beware

You'll need plug adapter (US to AU), I got few S8 power cords from Supplier #13 (AU supplier), works with S9 and AirSense 10 power supply

If you're thinking about this option, send them an email with all your questions and they'll be happy to answer them for you
They have many many happy Aussies customers on their books

RE: Hi guy's just saying hello
Thanks Zonk Much appreciated, I did send them an email and they answered exactly as you just said the only thing with the US model is the internal modem won't work in AUS according to them. After doing some number crunching adding exchange rate and duty it will cost me $1,852 to get the same package as I mentioned earlier so I would save about $350 still not bad but it is just the thought of having to send it back to the US puts me off a bit, if there was a problem it would probably make it less of a hassle to buy it up the road.

So I know where I am at now Cheers.

RE: Hi guy's just saying hello
1 US dollar = 1.43 AU dollar (1 AU dollar = 70 US cents)
Predicting AU dollar to fall further, close to 60 US cents

AirSense 10 AutoSet and heated tube $825.00
Shipping ..................................... $75
Total .......................................... $900 = 1282 AU dollar

New S9 AutoSet with the heated tube $699
Shipping ............................... $75
Total .................................... $774 = 1103 AU dollar

Used S9 AutoSet with the heated tube $479
Shipping ....................................... $75
Total .......................................... $554 = $789 AU dollar

Assuming these figures are correct, I would go with S9 AutoSet, new or used

AirSese 10 is a working progress project for ResMed, still in development stage
My machine of last year does not report RERAs and did not get the software upgrade

Then I need a new mask about $270 + power supply and extended warranty about $ 180

That brings it up to roughly what I said before.

For some reason I can't get the A10 out of my head, I can see Zonk that you are a big fan of the S9 but I will need more convincing before I change my mind.

And Thanks again for your help mate.Coffee

I'm confused, what the price of the machine in Australia?

Anyway, getting sleepy, time to go bed

The machine it's self is $1990 or $2200 for the machine + 5 year warranty and mask of your choice.
