Hidden danger of chin strap
So, like, early this morning, I woke to my face itching like it usually does. My skin is very sensitive and this "Ruby-like" chin strap is irritating. But without it, I wake up with flapping lips or puffing cheeks, neither of which help with the apnea stuff.

Anyway, so, half asleep, I stick my hand under the strap and start scratching. I didn't think I was scratching *that* hard. The chin is the worse due to that &$%^ seam. I go from there down my jaw line. I get to below my ear and that's when it happens. I actually rip a mole half off. It doesn't really hurt but the sound and sensation wakes me up the rest of the way!

We set an alarm for the minute my doc office opens and I get an appt to have it checked. And yes, I really did rip it almost completely off. While I am there, I have her remove another one that sits just below where the glasses sit at my temple.

She (the doc) says it isn't uncommon for folks to scratch a mole like that. She wanted to tell me stories about it but it just grossed me out too much. I left with two huge bandages on my face because the two wounds wouldn't stop bleeding. Funny how the one I ripped didn't bleed much at all but did like crazy when she removed it.

I hate it when those little buggers climb up there. It's bad enough they dig up my yard and all.

One heckuva way to wake up!

We just checked the mask straps and they don't come close to the area. That would have been fun to work around.

This CPAP game cheats I think. The aliens keep changing the rules.

I got sympathy pains just reading that, Paula! I have one on my back that I've scratched off a handful of times but the damn thing keeps coming back. Wish the little bugger would take a hint and go burrow somewhere else for a change...

Next time you scratch off the thang, go swimming in a chlorinated pool. Apparently the wound becomes infected, killing the cells that cause the warts. While I've never seen anything that supports this solution, it's always worked for me (first time was accidental). Eat-popcorn

It isn't funny its fysics. When you scratch it off you are actually pulling it off. When you do that it stretches the blood vessels before they break. Just like with a flexible rubber hose. As you stretch it the diameter narrows. So too the blood vessels when the mole gets pulled off and they do not bleed much. When you cut the blood vessels they remain at their normal diameter and, guess what, they bleed.

Best Regards,
