Higher AHI
Usually get reading between 1 and 3, but with this bad cold, it is up to 10-12. Never had readings this high since starting therapy. Hoping it will go back to low when I recover. Anyone have this happen? Using a Dreamstation and Pico nasal mask

RE: Higher AHI
When I’ve been sick with a bad cold or just very congested, I’ve seen my AHI rise by 1 or 2cm at the most.
Also, some decongestants and other cold meds could be responsible.

RE: Higher AHI
Your profile suggest fixed CPAP pressure of 8.0 on an auto CPAP. This might be the time to open up the auto function and make it work for you. Setting it to Auto mode with 8 to 11 pressure might just avoid some of that.

RE: Higher AHI
Thanks for the replies. I quit using cold meds and my AHI returned to 4.1. Although I still feel bad, I will stick to Tylenol and nose spray.

RE: Higher AHI
With a nasal mask it is likely to get a lot of restricted airflow due to the air having to try to get through a blocked nose.
APAP will help a bit, but a Full-Faced mask for when you have bad colds will help even more. You could try keeping your nose clear by putting some vapour stuff near the air intake, but do not put it in the humidifier. Make sure it can't block the air intake.
I am NOT a doctor. I try to help, but do not take what I say as medical advice.
