if they give you an APAP, it will come with a minimum pressure setting. For example, mine came set at 5cm. So that would be just like a CPAP machine set at 5cm. So it is always blowing air and trying to maintain at least that pressure.

RE: Home Sleep Test results
I found out today that I will be able to go get my supplies next Thursday.

I am anxiously, nervously waiting to be able to start. Not sure what mask to pick out, I've had lots of people give me their suggestions. Thanks! I am so ready to start and to not hear myself snore anymore. I'm sure it will be tough to start out with. I hope I can adjust well to this new part of my life.

Hi Inky1,
How exciting, It will be good to hear about your progress as you start your CPAP journey. As far as masks go, don’t be shy about asking to try as many as you need, ‘till you find the one that works for you.
Good luck to you as you start your CPAP therapy.

Thanks Trish6hundred for the advice and being positive about it. I know that I went through all the steps before being able to accept that I had OSA. I actually wanted to have OSA b/c I knew my snoring was bothering my wife and I felt tired during the day. I know it's odd to want to have OSA, but I hope I can adjust to this new style of life.

I have a personal bias toward ResMed machines; PR also makes fine machines.
Since the doc is recommending APAP, and you have a pressure range, I see no reason why you would need a lab titration.

I agree with Mongo.Because I had two sleep test were ere inconclusive' so there was no titration. The sleep labs wanted to do more testing, but my Doc talk to my insurance and got me a ResMed AirSence 10 I use it in APAP mode

A first I was frustrated with the DME/repository specialist. But, fortunately I found the forum. They helped me download my own software machine and manual and have been doing my own titration.

Every week my AHI has been lower that the week before that to these patience people on the forum providing answers, ideas and suggestions to help me cope with the therapy.
