How long does a sleep study need to be to detect central sleep apnoea
I have had a sleep study done a year ago, I only got 2 hours sleep on my sleep study in which I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnoea, with a years worth of CPAP I still feel very tired and my memory is actually declining, my ENT suspects I have central sleep apnoea.
Is 2 hours on a sleep study adequate to rule out central sleep apnoea?

A sleep study will miss a lot of central apnea unless it's a split night study. Some people have central apnea when not under CPAP pressure, but a lot of people only show it when they are under CPAP pressure.
Did they mask you up and try to determine a pressure setting?
In one sense, a sleep study should be done every night for several weeks on everyone to detect central apnea. I think everyone should have a fully data capable CPAP and it should be monitored to detect if you're developing central apnea.
I agree we need to know what CPAP machine you have.

I have a Resmed S9 AutoSet with H5i humidifier, on my sleep study I did an overnight study and an MSLT the next day but the odd thing was I got only 2 hours of sleep on my study and the next day I wasn't really tired I just lay down feeling fatigued.
I have played with varying my sleeping hours but nothing works. My Sleep specialist is refusing another sleep study saying that I do not have central sleep apnea but I don't see how they could have ruled that out in only 1 sleep study of 2 hour duration.

I don't know how to read this stuff I can barely read a page of a book my cognition is so messed up.
