How long until changes in blood tests or medications?
#11
RE: How long until changes in blood tests or medications?
I haven't noticed much change in the major biometric markers, such as BP, cholesterol, etc., but I generally feel better when I wake up every morning. I have lost about 30 pounds, but I've also been working at it a lot more than I did, in terms of diet and exercise. So, as someone above said, maybe being better rested simply helps with the motivation to make other positive changes in your lifestyle.

The most significant difference I've noticed is that I'm sick a lot less often. Prior to PAP, I had almost chronic sinusitis, which led to sinus infections every 1-2 months that required antibiotics to get rid of. Now I might catch a quick cold from my daughter or otherwise once every 3 months, but it subsides in less than a week and rarely progresses to an infection. Sometimes I won't catch her colds at all, yet my wife does. I'm not sure if this is just because I am breathing filtered, clean, humidified air all night or because I'm better rested. Either way, I don't really care Smile

I had no improvement in any biometric markers, although early on the head fog reduced, I stopped taking naps twice a day and I stopped getting up 5-6 times a night. Unfortunately, T2 diabetes worsened very dramatically since I started CPAP a little over a year ago and I'm now on insulin. I continue to have the complication of insufficient sleep due to restless legs. Just started gabapentin in the hope that will reduce this issue.
