How much data is sent by modem?
I've been using apap for about 2 months now, and I'm not scheduled to see my sleep doc for another month or so. But he did send me a message saying my numbers looked good, based only on the data the machine (ResMed Airsense 10) sends by modem. Does he have access to the same data I do via the SD card, or is he looking at mainly compliance data? When I see him next, should I bring my SD card so he has more info to work with? My machine didn't have a card when I got it, and neither the DME nor doctors ever mentioned one.

Pretty sure they have full access to all data the machine records and can even change your settings via that modem. Not sure that most of them look at the data, though.

My understanding is that the modem sends summary and detailed data, but not high resolution data such as flow rate and mask pressure. (If I remember rightly the detailed data is sampled at a rate of 1 per second and the high resolution at 50 per second).
They can indeed alter your settings remotely - though I would be very unhappy if somebody did that to my machine without my expressed consent.

I looked at the data that was sent to the DME when I was at the sleep Dr's office. It was detailed but not the high resolution data. They ahd no interest what so ever in looking at the sleepyhead outputs.
