Maybe the site admin could provided for download, the "Respironics" file format. Zip ... you would only have to unzip the folder where you want, and follow steps 4-7.

Thanks for this great info, Papou... I don't have access to a Windows PC right now... but could you check your Respironics directory and tell me the total content size (directory size) that would have to be zipped up? The install file is 31.4 MB - is the entire installed directory much bigger than that? Thinking-about

Also, does anyone know of any security concerns or other problems that this method might pose?

Thanks

My uncompressed Respironics folder is 121 MB. That's a win 7 pro installation.
I compressed it on a usb key and it compressed to 28 MB.
I don't know of any security concerns that it would pose.

Thanks to Papou for giving instructions on how to get EncoreBasic working with Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.

~ How to Run EncoreBasic on Windows 8.x machines ~

The directions being sent out via email now include a link to the zipped-up pre-installed Respironics directory for Windows 8 users to download. Just follow the directions in this thread to receive the latest download link.

After downloading the zip file, please unzip it and place the folder with it's entire contents somewhere on your computer, navigate to the Respironics folder, then follow Papou's directions (repeated here):

1- In that folder, find the application EncoreBasic.exe, and right click it. Click "Properties" and go to the "Compatibility" tab. Check in "Compatibility Mode" ---> Run this program in compatibility mode for:

2- From the dropdown menu, choose Windows 7, Vista or XP. (personally, I took Windows XP Service Pack 3).

3- Click on "Approve".

4- Once done, right click on the EncoreBasic.exe application, and send a shortcut to the desktop.

It's done! All that remains is to run the software via the shortcut, and "magic" ... Now you can download your data in the software. And it works wonderfully.

Please note: This method should only be used by Windows 8 users - Users of WindowsXP, Vista and Windows7 should use the normal EncoreBasic installation file.

Thank you ... I do not often write (because my English sucks ...) Smile

But this is the least that share our tips with everyone ... when you can do it.

This is a great forum here ... Thanks again to the admin and moderators. Coffee
