How to Fine tume Pressure settings
I have had my AirSense10 autoset for going on 75 days now with a pressure range set to 9-15 cmH2O AHI average 1.5 , 90% Pressure over that 75 days was 11.32 cmH2O.
When I did the Titration Study I did not sleep much so they had a hard time to read and come up with a good set of numbers but it may be actually ok, But is there way to play with my upper and lower pressure setpt. for me to fine tune my pressures? Not sure but it seems when I have a leak range in the 12 -15 L/min I do not see any AH events the pressure still seems to hold at the proper value . Not sure if my mouth is open or not . I am using a Dream wear nasal unit and now my leak has greatly been reduced for the most part but I am not sure what is happening in the night as sometimes I see a higher leak. What indicator would I see if I am opening my mouth when I am sound a sleep. Is it a Higher leak and how would I know if it is due to the mask leaking or my mouth is open.
Let me know the answer to both questions: How to fine tune my pressure settings for the lowest AHI numbers. and how can I tell a mask leak , or my mouth is open?

Dry mouth would be one of the indications of opening your mouth.
I have to combine a chin strap with the "tongue suck" method, but I still get occasional large leaks.
Yes, your pressure range can be adjusted, but pressure adjustments are not the proper correction for leakage... correcting mouth breathing, properly fitting the mask, or even using a different mask are the solution for that.
Min/Max pressure would be adjusted to reduce apnea events. Download Sleepyhead and post up some charts and some of the more experienced members here would be happy to help.

At 1.5 AHI you are there.
Mouth Breathing read the Mask Primer.
To change settings press both the Round selection Button and the bottom button and hold for 3 seconds.
If you choose to make changes make only small changes.
and post your sleepyhead charts improve any advice that you do get.

For suggestions to tune/tweak your settings the best thing is to make a forum query. ( http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Forum-M...oard-Forum ) Read the below suggestions.
- Start a new thread. Add all your inquires to this new thread because this will retain your history for us in the responses to your queries.
- If you don’t have all this info don’t worry about it. As a general rule the more info we have, the better the advice you will get.
- Using multiple posts is acceptable.
- What type of Apnea do you have? (Obstructive, Central, Complex, Hyponea, RLS) Have you posted your sleep studies? (They have this information) If not post your Sleep Studies. It is especially important to know if you have Central or Complex Apnea.
- Include your daily charts. They include a lot of data that is used as the basis of advice delivered
- How do you feel? This relates to all things comfort and intangible things (my nose hurts)
- What do you want to know more about? What's giving you the greatest difficulty?

To find out if you're mouth leaking look at at your leak rate graph. If there are extended periods of time when the leak rate is elevated relative to other times that could indicate mouth leaking. Try a chin strap. If that doesn't work switch to a full face mask.
