How to know if heated tube is working

RE: How to know if heated tube is working
If the hose was cut while installed on the humidifier AND the circuit was powered there is a chance that the heating circuit in the humidifier was shorted out...that would explain that the replacement hose doesn't work.

Maybe voltage check on your multimeter?

Definitely do NOT check it like we used to check 9 Volt batteries via the tongue over the terminals.

OldFart, check out this post from Phil http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-...#pid227870

Pretty obvious that if you have any current at all, the humidifier circuit is working. I don't know what the factory specifications for the tube, but at least this gives you a comparison to a working unit.

I'm a master of not checking the obvious so I have to ask what your settings are on the machine. Is the hose and humidifier set to auto? If not are they off? If not off or auto, what are the settings adjusted to?
