How to see results
I'm trying to get away from my Respironics unit and will try for the Resmed AirCurve 10 ASV, or end up with the Dreamstation.   I've been on the phone today with the Doctors office and Medicare.  With my Respironics, I can take the SD card and plug it into my computer and see the results.  What do the two mentioned machines use for me to see results (I ask because I don't have a Smartphone).  Thank you.

RE: How to see results
AFAIK, all the current Resmed models (both Airsense and Aircurve lines) use and SD card to record therapy data.  For Resmed, the results can be viewed/analyzed either by Resscan (Windows only) or OSCAR (cross-platform, much preferred).

Both the dreamstation and Resmed use Oscar which is free download on this site. And I have used both and although there are people on this site that prefers the dreamstation MOST believe, as I do, that the Resmed is not only preferable but much better. I owned the dreamstation for 5 years and never got decent therapy (always had around 20 events per night) I got Resmed VAUTO AND HAVE HAD 20 days straight of 2 events or LESS.

Been using my new Aircurve 10 VAuto for a few weeks and have hardly had any events. Been happy thus far.

RE: How to see results
The Resmed Aircurve 10 Vauto records data on a SD card and is viewable on ResScan and OSCAR. Most clinicians use Airview, which allows them to receive data on demand through Resmed. Your machine can be registered by your DME or clinician for MyAir (patient version) and AirView (professional version). Airview is detailed compliance and efficacy data and allows two-way communication so prescription changes can also be sent to your machine. Most of us don't want anyone that involved with our data or therapy settings, but it can be done if that is a condition of approval.

Here is the login to Airview https://airview.resmed.com/login You cannot create an account, but your doctor can, and that gives him full access. This is the link to account registration https://www.rmdassets.com/airview/networ.../index.php Your doctor does not need to buy any software and his clerical staff or the DME can handle all the transactions an reports if desired.

RE: How to see results
Thanks everyone. My doctor is now trying to switch me to a different DME and different machine. They've set me up with a sleep study, as required by insurance, in the second week of September. It seems my current DME only offers Phillips products, whereas the new DME provider offers Phillips and ResMed, among others. When talking to a receptionist at the doctors office on the phone, she indicated I'm not the only customer that has had bad results with my original DME (of course she had to stay rather quiet on the subject). The original DME had me use the Phillips machine (received it on 6/1/18), and yet no one can use any program to receive the data on demand because my machine is "outdated". So it's all done by me removing the data card and carrying it with me -- but no one is monitoring how I'm doing. I appreciate and look forward to getting some help from this site.

Philips is notorious for signing suppliers to exclusive sales agreements which limits choice and increases profits. In your case they even provided an outdated machine at full price. Glad to see you making the switch.

RE: How to see results
I'm curious as to an issue with the upcoming sleep study at the doctors office. I started using my machine and got better sleep. But I developed a bad case of insomnia and my functionality went haywire. So the doctor prescribed a generic Ambien 10 mg pill to eat nightly. I'm sleeping better but want to get off that drug. The original four sleep studies I took to first get to my BiPap machine, I did not take any pills any that time. So should I take a pill to get some sleep when I do the upcoming sleep study, or will that pollute the results, and maybe I shouldn't take the sleeping pill. ?? I'd hate for Medicare to say "you don't need a Bipap machine" -- my AHI is consistently below 5. I fall asleep about 11:20 p.m., then wake up around 4:30 a.m., then fall asleep again around 7:00 a.m. and sleep real well until about 9:00 a.m. And then I function well all day until I eat the next nights pill at 11 p.m. Thanks for the help.
