I tried but it doesn't come out. I must therefore assume that it is faulty

Post a pic of the label on the bottom.

That's right, refurbished machines can have the total hours reset.
I am so sad and disappointed.
Do you mean a photo of the serial number?

The side cover should come off. Press down on top notch with your thumb and pull up and out with your other 4-fingers. It pulls straight out, but has silicone seals that will resist the pull. It may take a strong grip. Try wiggling up and down and back and forth. There are no screws or glue. The inside of that cover looks like the image below

RE: I Suspect My AutoCPAP is Used
There was another member from Romania whos machine came with only the side cover plate. I wonder if that is more common in some parts of Europe (maybe the humidifier and heated hose is optional in some areas, that would make it cheaper).

The machine pictured looks new to me although you haven't shown the scratches. I haven't seen the claims of places resetting run hours so I personally would trust them especially if the seller you bought from is respectable.

Having trouble removing the cover plate is a bit odd but it might just be jammed in. I had one water chamber that was a tight fit that I had to jam in pretty good to get it to seal properly and sometimes it would be a bit tough to remove. The cover plate is a lot smaller and tougher to grab so I am guessing it is just a poor fit and jammed in there.

I have now seen a video on youtube of a French user who extracts the cover from the airsense 10. It may be that the European models have the cover because they do not provide the humidifier to be purchased separately. However there is no way to take it off and then there is a small mark under the cover. I don't know what to think for sure it is a faulty machine, it would be much more serious if it were a refurbished airsense 10 model sold as new

The entire label on the bottom. The gurus here can interpret it.

Actually, the label on the back (beside the power cord) is more useful; it has the serial number (mildly interesting) and the REF number, which is the model number we cross reference.

Actually, the serial number can tell us the factory, year and week of manufacture...

Serial number = FFyyWWxxxxx where FF = 22 is Australia, 23 is Singapore; yy is year of this century; WW is the week of the year; and xxxxx is a unique number

Is it safe to publish the serial number? I ask why I don't know. However there is a date
next to the serial number that should be the manufacturing date 2022-01-11
It would seem recent

I was hoping for something that might say refurb. On the SN, if you redact everything past the Week of year as noted above there is no way of associating that CPAP with you.

Thanks so much for the information. So does that mean it's probably refurbished or not?
