Importing oxymeter data for the first time-error in the overview
I imported data to sleepyHead from a CONTEC CMS50E for the first time yesterday. Everything looks fine in the daily view. However in the overview something is wrong. The headline on pressure are showing some strange numbers, and data for the last night is missing.

While the data for SPo2 and pulse rate are placed on wrong dates, the pulse change and SPo2 drop are placed on the right dates.

Another change is that graphes for usage and sessions have changed colour. I don't mind the last, but I wonder if anyone can help me with the other issues.
Please see attachments.

RE: Importing oxymeter data for the first time-error in the overview
Kristin seems to be having more success than I've had.
New Contec CMS50F user.
Recorded one night pulse oximetry and pulse rate data while using my CPAP device.
Have both Sleepyhead software and aprropriate download device software (Macintosh OSX (v4): mac_osx_vcp_driver (confirmed to work with macOS Sierra) installed and loaded.
Am unable to get data transferred to Sleepyhead even though I'm using the USB cable provided by Contec on purchase . Get error message 'unable to find pulse oximeter' from the wizzard and certainly I can find no 'upload' menu selection on the pulse ox device itself.
Please provide a step by step work around. Thank you.

Hi Alan R Baker -
There are several CMS-50's listed on the oximetry menu. Have you tried both the CMS50+/E/F and CMS50Fv3.7+/H/I? The latter one usually works.
RE: Importing oxymeter data for the first time-error in the overview
If your CMS50F has a single port that looks like a mini-USB connection - the finger sensor and the USB cable both use it - then you have the newer version. You should see the firmware revision when you turn it on, and it will be 3.7 or greater. Mine is 3.8... It will download automatically once recognised, no messing with an oximeter menu.
Oh, and you do have to turn it on before you plug it in. The USB chip is powered by the cable, but the rest of the oximeter is not. The new CMS50D+ with the micro USB connector is like that, except that the USB chip is in the cable.
RE: Importing oxymeter data for the first time-error in the overview
Thanks for the feedback but still no luck.
Connected the CMS50F to my iMac after turning the oximeter on (ver3.9) via the serial cable and then asked the Sleepyhead wizard to download the recorded overnight data. Still get the error message that 'no pulse oximeter device can be found' despite trying the wizard oximeter selections for both CMS50D+/E/F, Pulox PO - 200/300 and CMS50Fv3.7+/H/I, Pulox PO - 400/500.
Any other thoughts?
Alan

Kristin, I wonder if your problem is caused by the known error Contec CMS50 devices (particularly the 'F' but I think also the 'D') have with dates. It is very important to adjust your oximeter's date to coincide with your PAP's date when importing into SH.

Alan Alan, Just wondering if your USB cable works with Sp0 2 Assistant?
RE: Importing oxymeter data for the first time-error in the overview
Since you're running OS X, the only thing that I can think of is to look at the permissions. If you are able validate the connection by either the command line or other methods, then it would sound like a permission mismatch.

Thank you for your reply. I believe I have been adjusting the oximeter's date correct. Last night I started the oximeter at the exact same time as the cpap to be sure. Look at the dates on the graphes in the attachment. The graph is showing the wrong date, but when I mark the graph it show the correct date (july 1) I thought I should report it, but can't find out how to do that. Maybe it is already known. Do you think there is a way I can correct this?

RE: Importing oxymeter data for the first time-error in the overview
Kristin, I'm such a noob that I am unable to recognize the discrepancy and cannot diagnose the problem. So I can only hope that these suggestions will help.
First, are you running Windows? There is a very helpful tool that a forum member, adrinef, has created: SPO2DateChanger.exe. A post with instructions and an attached ZIP file is here:
CMS50D+ Add date and time to SPO2 file #5
Note that it requires .Net Framework 4, which may not be installed in your operating system.
There are additional helpful tips provided by another great forum member, Sheepish, in this post:
Trouble Syncing Oximetry in SleepyHead #30
I have found SPO2DateChanger to be a great aid in getting my SpO2 data somewhat aligned with my PAP data. However, I'm lazy and have the attention span of a little puppy so I get very annoyed at having to adjust every SpO2 Assistant file I import, and since my O₂ sat is good, I seldom bother any more.
Hope that helps!
