Since I was in Matric and I am 32 now. My apnea was undiagnosed for years. It was only when I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH). That out of frustration (because my Neurologist couldn't get my IIH under control) that he got the bright idea to test me for Sleep Apnea. I have been sleeping with a CPAP since April 2014.

Did CPAP help your IIH?

Hi Archangle, it did improve my IIH significantly. I was at a point were they needed to place a shunt but because my Neurologist didn't want me to get one, he decided to seek alternative treatment. When I was diagnosed with IIH, I needed a spinal tap every 2/3 weeks. Since using the CPAP I didn't need one, not even once in the last year.

I am at the beginning of my 2nd week of therapy. The last two nights have been horrible.

I am getting a similar sensation, however, it's when I go from laying supine and moving to my side. I SWEAR the machine is not putting out the same pressure.

I check the hose to see of it's pinched and all is well.

I move back to my back and get a stronger feeling of the air rushing sensation.

I am conscience that when I tilt my head back, it puts more pressure on the mask which can create a feeling of increase air pressure. I am leaving my neck in the same position so that tilting back is not the case.

Am I nuts? or is this part of the acclimation process? Going from back to side and then to back in a minute or so would seem like a real fast acclimation/non-acclimation process.
