Is a BiPAP w/ RAD backup rate an ASV?
Asking because I managed to get a BiPAP w/ RAD backup rate prescription, but I already purchased an Aircurve 10 ASV.

RE: Is a BiPAP w/ RAD backup rate an ASV?
Bi-level Respiratory Assist Devices with Backup rate which include an ASV.
RAD = respiratory assist device HCPCS Code E0471 Respiratory assist device, bi-level pressure (BiPAP) capability, WITH backup rate feature, used with noninvasive interface, e.g., nasal or facial mask (intermittent assist device with continuous positive airway pressure device) Again that is what ASV is. I think ST-A is another.

It's also the ST. I think there needs to be a bit more detail like pressure settings in any prescription to know for sure. If your prescription is for ASV, you have a backup, or can resell. Meanwhile you have appropriate therapy while all of this sorts itself out.
