Is it or is it not sleep apnea?

Is it or is it not sleep apnea?
My sleep study indicates that my AHI is 4.7 and my RDI was 9.7. I thought that I had to have an AHI of at least 5 and a RDI of at least 10. My insurance company says that I don't have sleep apnea and that I don't need a machine.

Unfortunately, many insurance companies will not pay for a machine unless your AHI is above 5. They completely ignore the RDI which includes RERAs that can be just as sleep disrupting and dangerous to your health.

What you might want to do is see if your sleep doc or PCP will prescribe a machine that you can hopefully afford to purchase out of pocket? If they won't, there is a list of medical professionals (I am too lazy to search) who can do this.
