Leaking Nasal pillow and increasing AHI
Hello all, I ordered a replacement nasal pillow a month ago, so the part is new. I've noticed that on nights where I get a bit warm, if I start to sweat, my nasal pillow is unable to seal well. I'm not saying that I'm pooring sweat down my face, but If it becomes a bit warm around face and I sweat it happens. I've also noticed recently that my average AHI has crept up from a nightly average of .2-.4 up to .8-1. I realize that this is low in comparison to many here, but this has happened since I put on some additional weight (about 15lbs overweight). Should this be a concern of the creaping up AHI? Has anyone tried these supposed mouth tongue exercises to help reduce OSA?

Thanks

RE: Leaking Nasal pillow and increasing AHI
The additional weight is certainly a consideration. I've gone the opposite way and lost some weight. My AHI's have dropped as well. The leaks might be solved by moving up one size in the nasal pillows. Of course, if you're all ready using the larges size then this is a moot point. You could also try washing the nasal pillows and the area where they contact prior to use.

Good Luck!
