Leaks
As you can see I have a resmart machine and cannot use Sleepyhead.
Just what is the maximum leak you can have before it affects your AHIs.I have been using the machine now for close on 3months and have had good readings. My specialist is very pleased with the results. However the last 3 nights I have had leakage of 37l/min and AHI s of 1.9,0.9and 1.9 and have felt as tired as before I started treatment .Could this leakage be affecting the efficacy of my AHIs?

Lorraine
I have gone back to using the i VoLve mask.

RE: Leaks
I don't know about your machine, mine can handle 24l/m and still provide treatment. Large leaks make it difficult if not impossible for the machines to detect and treat apneas. Others here may know about your specific machine, but I would guess that 37L/M is high for any machine.

As with most cases the medical industry will consider you treated if your AHI is below 5, regardless of how you feel. Because of the machine you have you may have a more difficult time adjusting your machine to what you need to get good sleep, but it can be done and is well worth it.

Look in the manuals sect of this site and see if your machine is listed. Get the manual if it is. Look at your menus and tell us what adjustments you have access to and if you get the manual list the hidden adjustments. If you have a good relationship with your specialist you might ask them how to access their menu so you can have access to all the adjustments.

No mine is not listed. Have spoken to the suppliers and they say 37l/min is too high for this machine .

The leakage makes the machine useless. The AHI is not relevant when you have leaks that high.

Likely air is escaping out your mouth. The remedy is a chin strap. If that doesn't work, a full face mask. It will make a big improvement in the way you feel.
