Resmed and clear air events

Resmed and clear air events
I am using a Resmed Airsence 10 Vauto  in VPAPauto mode.  8-15   and love it . But have a question.
When it detects a CA event why does it bump the presure up ?   It was my understanding that rising the
presure did not help CA events and ofton even made you have more of them so why would Resmed bump
the presure up?

RE: Resmed and clear air events
I find if I have a CA event I normally have like 4-5 in very quick succession and it is generally a positional issue where I have tucked my chin under. I think that the machine probably increases the pressure believing that it has to treat the event and they are classed as CA events.

RE: Resmed and clear air events
I believe it sends a TINY pressure oscillation to determine whether the airway is open (definition of CA) or closed (definition of QA0.
