That can be a symptom of gastric problems, which is consistent with your problem. I had lower back pain many years ago and the cause was attributed to a stomach ulcer - turned out it was just reflux. But extra gas in the gut can certainly result in lower back pain. Which, by the way, is an entirely different feeling from disk bulge pain, which is excruciating.
