MOuth blocked + hose detached

MOuth blocked + hose detached
A few nights ago I had a pretty scary experience.

I woke with my chin strap blocking my mouth and the hose detached from my mask. I had slight chest pain on waking - which I think triggered me awake - and was very breathless.

It has left me scared to use a chin strap again.

Any suggestions or trying to prevent the hose from coming away from the mask? I thnk it happened when I turned over in my sleep. I am not sure how I can stop the chin strap from slipping tbh.

Check your machine settings. You may want to enable the disconnect alarm.

I have a hose hanger that supports my hose from above. That way my hose doesn't pull on my mask and cause leaks.

I have tried a bunch of ideas to prevent leaks.
I have had quite a few chinstraps. They usually stretched then were no good.
I bought a Knightsbridge Dual Band cap after reading recommendations. Initially it was so good it was perfect. Now I have a love-hate relationship with it depending on how well it worked.
I have read a few poster's links about soft cervical collars. I want to find a good one to try.
I have used a Dakota wedge intended to prevent snoring. It's worked. However, I need to replace it soon. The strap is worn out.
