Whoa! are we supposed to be cleaning there? Are there instructions?

I think what Geer1 is suggesting is OK. There's been a few of these what I'll call outlet elbows that's been pulled before. Mostly to do replacement donut seals for leaks, if I remember right. The clip that holds the elbow in releases without tools and the elbow clicks in place without issue.

Does it look like this for anyone else with an older machine?

My A10 is a very early model -- came off the assembly line and was powered up on Sept 10, 2014. My first night was Oct 10, 2014.

I found a pencil eraser the right tool to push on the tab. Gives enough friction to stay where you want it, and it's the right size and shape. And the pencil is a nice lever arm.

FWIW here's my images of removal of the elbow. This is on an AutoSet. And my finger strength isn't great so I used the needle nosed pliers to release the catch by pushing in on the locking tab. No issues. To insert, keep the gray tabs flat and aligned in the slot. It'll snap right in.

Thanks to cathyf for mentioning a pencil eraser, it's probably easier on the machine than my pliers method.

Assuming you have not been cleaning them, how dirty do your seals look?

I removed the air outlet and it was super clean.  Cleaned it anyway with soap and water and inserted it back in place.

The silicone flange on my air outlet split after 4 years and I replaced it without difficulty.  The part is called a "Humidifier Chamber Air Outlet" and costs $9.95 from Supplier #1.
