Dreamstation autotitrating cpap machine issues
A little background.  I'm on Medicare and the way regular medicare works with DME is you can buy it outright paying only for co-pay and outstanding annual deductible or through monthly lease to buy win which Medicare requires you comply with a minimum of four hours a day of use over a monthly average.   So I got my machine on 9/2017 through a local medical equipment supplier.  I'm happy both with my medical respiratory provider  and DME supplier. I chose to buy over time and have met or exceeded all sleep hours. I now own it as I paid off my portion for it.

Here is my issue, my machine is paid off and of course after flawlessly working for almost five years one night I'm woken up by machine sounding like an out of balance washing machine.  While I have registered the unit for the recall they've been dragging their feet and I spoke with them today and apparently it was ready to ship November 2021 though they claim they wanted confirmation of my information?  I answered all of their questions and there was no  dependencies... Now they claim it might not be before September before they contact me to get another confirmation on my address in order to ship me a new one/modified old one.

I'm on a very tight fixed income other wise I'd just request a new one from my medical provider.  While I like my DME supplier their repair facility is average.  When the machine acted up the first time,   I downloaded the factory manual and took apart the machine.  (I have decades of experience working on a wide variety of electronic and mechanical equipment)  Living in Idaho since 2016,   I'm always amazed at the talcum powder like dust this state seem to produce like a commodity.  I always replaced the disposable filter and wash the reusable filter as recommended by manufacture. Still the interior workings of the machine were coated with talc like dust throughout. Pulling the blower motor it spun freely and no sign of what could cause it to make so much noise.
By the way when it makes the noise it loses pressure. I cleaned the unit as best as possible and prior to installing the main cover I tried the unit several times and was unable to duplicate the vibration. Everything ran fine for about a month and then last night it began again.  I was very tired and in no mood so I shook the unit and thumbed it against the my hand.  Tried it again and it did again.  The second time it ran fine and no more issues for the night.

Has anyone else had this happen?  If I could get the unit to last three more months I'd be fine as the replacement unit will not be charged to Medicare.  Any ideas, thoughts or similar experiences I would be grateful to hear from folks.

Thank you in advance!
