Moving to Richmond, Need a new doctor.
I will be retiring in December and will move to Richmond Virginia to be close to family. I will need a new sleep doctor, or maybe not. The past doctors have not helped as much as this forum has. I did not like my DME so I have been self paying for only the supplies that I need. It might be worth playing the game if I could get a new machine.

RE: Moving to Richmond, Need a new doctor.
I've been seeing Dr. Patrick Harding in Williamsburg, Va., about 50-60 minutes from Richmond (depending on where in Richmond you are located). I like him fine, and his assistant is excellent.

Be sure to get physical copies of any important medical records related to your sleep apnea, especially any clinical tests, prescriptions and encounter results. My first effort would be to find a good primary care doctor in Richmond to meet routine medical needs and exams. You should ask that doctor to manage your OSA prescription needs, including annual discussion of your CPAP use and if it continuing to benefit you. This should meet any insurance requirements for equipment and supplies. The only reason to see a specialist is if something changes or insurance denies equipment pending a test. Especially as you transition to Medicare, it is helpful to have a history of CPAP use and routine care so you don't have to start over with a diagnosis.

I will need a primary doctor. It's a good idea to see if he can do OSA also.
