My first problem

Hey all, CPAP working great, feeling absolutely great but got one problem. The CPAP is causing me to bloat up. My Dr. had some abdominal x-rays done and it showed a lot of abdominal gas along with some bile but he believes the CPAP is causing the bloating. He said its very common with CPAP users. Anyone else here experiencing this? How are you dealing with it??

Not sure about common but some do have a problem with swallowing air and farting

I had aerophagia also. It went away on its own after a few months. Sometimes I could actually feel the air going down the wrong path into my stomach as I was falling asleep.

I think it's pretty common. Especially in the first few months or with a pressure increase or at high pressures.

I wouldn't be too concerned with it if the doc isn't. Make sure to let the doc know if it becomes painful (cramping) or if it gets worse in any other way.

I always found the best way to deal with it was to have someone pull firmly on my finger.

Usually it shows up more with pressures above 12cm but I think with yours set at 7cm it will eventually fade away.
If you get some bad heartburn keep some chewable calcium carbonate tablets by the side table or if you can tolerate it, Pepcid AC (for acid only not just gas)
