My mask has left a mark in my face

RE: My mask has left a mark in my face
Bumping this thread. My dad, who's 72, has been having marks on his nose -- he's been using the Philips ComfortGel mask because it's the only one that the supplier that the doctor recommended uses. He also says the bottom part is pressing against the tip of his nose. He does not really like the headgear on the nasal mask, but he says the nasal prongs keep coming loose.

They gave him a L size (largest size they stock)... do you think I need to get them to get him an XL size? He has a pretty big nose, his is long and flat. His family is mixed with American Indians, though it's mostly bred out of me.

I'm not too fond of this medical provider. Their specialist seemed rather perturbed to be actually dealing with customers. But it's the one the doctor sent us to.

Just wondering if anyone has tried a saltwater "rinse" of the mark area to try to help thicken up the skin there (it was a suggestion on a manufacturer's site)? I get a little mark from my nasal mask and minor strap marks from the headgear...the nose marks take a little longer to get rid of, but (luckily) both fade within a couple hours...but I'm tempted to try the saltwater thing to reduce the nose marks.
