GET YOUR OWN [secret] CPAP SETUP MANUAL
It's come to our attention that several of our members don't realize that they can actually receive a free  PDF copy of the secret "Clinician Setup Manual" for their CPAP machine through Apnea Board.

These "Setup Manuals" are sometimes called the "Setup Guide", "Clinician Manual", "Provider Guide" or the "Provider Manual".  These documents are completely different than the usual simplistic "User Manual" that is often given to the patient when they receive their CPAP machine.

Shhh DON'T TELL!!!!  But you're really not supposed to see the "super-secret" Setup Manual.  In fact, most CPAP manufacturers go to a lot of trouble to ensure that you don't get a copy of all the "secret settings" revealed in these manuals-- the secrets that allow you to actually take control of your own therapy and fine-tune your own CPAP machine for the best possible therapy results.

In general, many sleep apnea professionals think that you (as a patient) are rather stupid.  They went to school for years and years to gain the knowledge of how to best treat someone with a sleep disorder.  You (as a patient) could therefore NEVER become educated yourself unless (of course) you graduated from the same academic institutions that they did.... at least that's what many of them think.  These types of "professionals" tend to talk-down to you as a patient.  You, after all, are "the patient", and THEY, after all, are "THE PROFESSIONAL".    [Simply substitute "peon" for the word "patient",  and "royalty" for the word "professional", and you'll understand that type of mindset].  Not every health care professional has that degree of self-adoration, of course-- but far too many of them have that exact mindset, unfortunately.

That's where Apnea Board comes in...

Apnea Board exists to empower YOU (the patient).  We believe that no one is looking out for your personal health as much as you.  Using a few tools (like your CPAP Setup Manual, the Apnea Board forums and the OSCAR software), YOU can actually educate YOURSELF and optimize your own CPAP therapy with positive results that (in many cases) end with better overall treatment than you'd receive from many health care professionals who often don't have the time to give you individualized regular treatment advice.

So, we encourage you to become educated-- start reading the forums here as a starting point.  You'll learn a lot by simply reading about other people's successes and failures.  At some point, you should ask us for the Setup Manual for your CPAP machine.  (Info on that follows).  Also, check out the OSCAR software program which allows you to analyze your machine's CPAP data so you have a clear view of what's going on with your treatment.  Then once you have questions about your therapy, start a new thread in the Main Forum here, with a title like "SuperSleeper's Therapy Thread" (but use your own forum username instead please).  Grin   Start asking questions, and learn how to organize your OSCAR charts and post OSCAR screenshots as an attachment to your posts so others can help you.

But the first thing we'd advise you to do is GET A COPY OF YOUR SETUP MANUAL.  Some of the manuals are very detailed;  others are rather simple, but all of them give instructions on how to enter into the "Setup Mode" or "Clinician Mode" where all the "secret" settings are located.

To get a free copy of your Setup Manual, simply CLICK HERE and follow the directions on that page to ask for a manual via email.  Make sure you copy the exact make & model of machine [from the list on that page] then paste that information into your email request.

Once you send your email request, please give us a day or so to send your manual via email.

Good luck to you and sleep well my friend!  Coffee
