NEW user need help with ResMed Autoset
Hi!

After getting the runaround with my local medical suppliers I decided to buy the cpap machine I want instead of playing a game of musical chairs and bait and switch, "we can no longer get that".

My ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset For Her CPAP Machine with Humidair Heated Humidifier arrived yesterday preset to a pressure level of 9.

This is the pressure level that was used during my sleep titration study at the sleep center. While it took some adjusting and time to fall asleep at the titration study, by morning my lungs and breathing felt relaxed and wonderful.

The machine they used for the titration study was a Resmed machine. It was very noisy.

My new Resmed machine is whisper quiet which I love.

Anyway, the 9 setting feels high. I used it all night and by morning I felt like my lungs had been overinflated all night long. It was not comfortable and everytime I woke up they felt overinflated.

I am the type of person who is going to do what they want to do and I will lower it to 8 and try that.

My question is, can't the ResMed 10 airsense be set to a range of pressures and auto adjust to my breathing needs? Can't I set the machine for a range of say 6-9?

I have requested and received the clinical guide. I just want to confirm that I am interpreting it correctly. I would also like advice as to how to determine the lower number of the range.

I assume the high number should be 9 or maybe even 8.

I am wearing an oximeter ring. I have it set to vibrate and wake me up if my oxygen drops below 90% so I am not worried about not getting enough air while on the cpap machine while sleeping.

I really appreciate the advice I have received so far. Any help is appreciated.

Thank You!
Valerie

You need to set it to autoset. That will allow you to have a min pressure and a maximum pressure. Plus the is a setting of EPR.

A GENERAC setting of max 15. Min 7. EPR 3

Those settings would give you an inhale pressure of 7, exhale pressure of 4 (as low as the machine can go) and the machine will go anywhere from7 to 15 to stop events as they start - it may NEVER get as high as 15.

Also, if you don't know about Oscar software, please take the time to learn it. Get a 32GB SD card and start recording your sleep sessions. Then you can upload the reports for interpretation, and recommendations by the experts here to help with incremental improvements.

Here are a couple of handy links:

I've already installed Oscar on my desktop computer. I need to buy a 32 GB SD card if my hubby doesn't have an extra one. I know he has an SD card reader. Thank you for the links!
