RE: Nasal obstruction and effectiveness CPAP
I use ffm because of mouth leaks. But it dose clear my clogged nose so I can breath through my nose after a few minutes.

For me CPAP does not open nose congestion but having EPR=3 or BiPAP PS=4 greatly helps breathing when only one nostril is clogged.

I've not found a FFM to open my nasal passage. But with pillows, it sure does! After about 5 minutes or so, I can feel the difference. I've only experienced the complete closure of nasal passage when sick. So I'm not sure about if this idea could be extrapolated for a structural blockage.

Hi Emred,
When I first started cpap and used heated humidification, I had major congestion issues that I never had before. I was living in the desert so I decided to reduce humidification so my breathing environment in sleep more closely matched my daytime breathing air. After stopping heat with just room temp humidification...things improved. So take a look at varying humidification as a way of possibly minimizing congestion.

If you breath through your mouth it won't stop the pressure from keeping your airway open. That being said you will tend to get a dry throat.

The only reason to use a full face mask is to breathe with mouth when you cant breathe through the nose.

Get surgery so you can switch to a nasal mask.
