Need help optimising treatment

RE: Need help optimising treatment
It's too early for a judgement call but the first night with the Vauto went well. I feel less rested than usual but I slept quite deeply and I love the "feel" of the bilevel mode, even at PS 3. It felt quite different from EPR set at 3. But maybe I'm just imagining things.

Anything I should adjust? Should I be setting the trigger to "high" or "very high"? I would eventually like to try a higher PS, but it can wait.

RE: Need help optimising treatment
I'm a bit at a loss on how to optimise my treatment and I would be very grateful for some pointers. Numbers aren't bad and I feel quite refreshed but I'm experiencing quite a few obstructive events in the first half of the night. Any pointers on what I could change in the settings of the Vauto?

RE: Need help optimising treatment
With your low numbers you need to ignore the numbers, observe them for significant changes but seriously ignore them. Do not chase them.

Any changes at this stage should be based on comfort.

Yes, as an analyst it is hard to do.

A harry well done on your therapy.

Thanks for the advice Gideon. I’ll try to heed it.

I think based on your results with both the Autoset and Vauto, you should have EPAP min set at 9.0. This will reduce the pressure variations and should be more comfortable. My other suggestion is to increase PS to 3.4 and use a high trigger sensitivity setting.

Thanks Sleeprider. Do you mean decrease (you wrote “increase”) PS to 3.4? It’s at 5 now and trigger is set at „very high“.

I missed that PS has gone to 5, and was thinking you were still at the starting PS of 3..Oops! I think a PS of 4 should be fine for you. Mostly the higher minimum EPAP is going to stabilize pressure. I do think PS 5 is a bit high. Did you increase from 3 to 5 in one step?

No, not in one step. But I’ll put it back to 4.

Out of interest's sake: Why is PS 5 considered high? Is it dangerous/problematic to use such a high PS? I adjusted it to 5 because I was still experiencing hypopneas at PS 4.
