New CPAP, new thread

RE: New CPAP, new thread
He says his computer isn't capable of running OSCAR. That makes sense that sleepyhead won't work with the new machine though.

Maybe time for a computer upgrade?

Sorry, I forgot which person had the old Mac...

OSCAR can run on recent Chromebooks as well as Windows laptops. It will also run on the RaspberryPi 400, an all-in-keyboard computer that just needs a mouse and an HDMI TV - costs about $100 US

Nothing like viewing your charts on a 40" TV...

Oog. So ResMed plays games with the data for each new machine? What a crock!

Looks like I’m being forced urged to get a cheap Windows just for OSCAR.

Bah.

You are forgiven.  Big Grin

Now that Pi 400 is an interesting idea. My Sony Bravia is only 55 inches, but I can
live with that. Will have to check HDMI ports.

Thanks, pholynyk!

Looked at all the Raspberry Tart stuff. Then bought a Lenovo Thinkpad.

Thanks for the tips.

I bought a nice Lenovo ThinkPad for around $200. Have OSCAR installed and A11 data
downloaded from the card. Here is the Overview for the few days I've used the A11,
along with last night's detail.

It's nice to be back.

Here are the corrected Overview and last night's Detail.
After farkling(*) with the resolution and graph text size,
everything of interest fits.

Most of these nights I wore the cervical collar.

Look at that, no mysterious shut offs. Mouth leaks are being reported during your mouth breathing again and you don't have the wonky flat flow limitation graph anymore. Now that we know we can trust the data and machine operation can try and improve treatment.

The first thing I am thinking of trying is to increase min pressure to 11 (can leave max the same). Try that for a few nights and see if you think it feels better or worse, if ahi changes and if you have more or less periods of mouth breathing/leaks.

Yeah, it sure is nice to have all that doubtful data out of the way.

I have a new sleep doc. Judging from all the negative comments
about them, he may be an exception. I’ll let him know that we’re
trying some things “based on the data and informed opinion” so
he doesn’t change the min pressure back. That’ll be a good test
of his cooperation.

Will set it tonight.

Thanks, geer1

RE: New CPAP, new thread
If your doctor asks why you are making changes you can test him by saying your data shows periods of low flow rate coinciding with mouth breathing and leaks. You are trying higher pressure to see if it improves that breathing or makes it worse. If there is improvement you will stick with the higher pressure, if not will be returning to the current settings.

His response to that claim would be interesting as I doubt most doctors would ever look at that level of detail and many may not even realize it exists let alone is viewable by a user.
