New CPAP user... Still waking up during the night
#11
Is my breathing better on higher pressure?? (OSCAR)
I've been on CPAP 4 days now for UARS/borderline apnea. Min pressure set to 8.

I've attached the screen caps. One screen cap shows how bad my breathing looks on pressure 8.

The other 2 are with pressure 11 and pressure 13, it seems like higher pressure reduces the flow limitations by a lot??? My auto only went to such higher pressures briefly, for whatever reason, no apneas or even anything there.

I have a phillips dreamstation auto CPAP, and I turned on C Flex to 1 for easier exhalation.

What do you think of my question? I included the data and showed the difference in pressures.

I see no one has tried to answer your question.  I'm not sure but what it looks like to me is the higher pressure is mouth breathing.  The increased pressure pushed the air out your mouth.  Like I said I'm not sure about it but if you look at the leak rate graph - is the area you have blown up a "plateau" raised area with a flat top.  If so it is quite possibly mouth breathing.

Looking back at all your posted charts it is hard to make out everything but it looks like you do have a problem with positional apnea. Positional apnea is when your chin drops down to your Sternum and cuts off your airway. You can not do anything with the pap machine to address positional apnea. The only thing you can do is stop sleeping in that position.

It my be back sleeping or to high of a pillow. If you can’t stop it with simple changes then you will need to get a collar to sleep in.

Please see my link on collars in my signature
