RE: New Computer Build Phortos
Very nice. How about posting some specs?

I'll probably have to build a new box for my desktop later this year, so it would be nice to know what "stuff" you used and how you like the stuff you used.

Inquiring minds want to know...

EDIT: I see you edited the post with specs. Thanks.

You're a nerd geek!

Been about 5 years since I did a custom build. Fun stuff, but amazing how fast the latest and greatest and fastest...isn't. That's a really cool build, so what do you run on it?

Too old of technology - fuel injected processors are much more efficient.

Yeah, I was re-spec'ing mine the other day. The motherboard is being a mobyhead again and I'm tired of it. I'm not upgrading the case though I might replace the side with plexiglass. That way I can see how bad the dust is.

I want fans and more fans.

I really like the Noctua fans. They move a lot of air quietly.

I tried to put a Be Quiet! Shadow Rock Slim CPU Cooler on the mobo.
Someone didn't observe the keep out zones. I would have crushed capacitors near the CPU. The Noctua cooler -- perfect fit, quiet, and keeps the CPU cool. I compared it to the CM 212 EVO and I didn't like the way the heatpipes formed grooves in the surface that contacts the CPU via Thermal Interface Compound -- (I used Arctic Silver 5.)

I put two 140mm fine dust filters on the two intake fans on the front of the case -- hoping I'd need to use less canned air to clean it.
