You have a great CPAP machine and CPAP therapy is, in my opinion, the best way to overcome sleep apnea. I see that you have the default pressure settings, and if that works well for you than keep right on. Usually a minimum pressure of 4 is too low for adults and most CPAP users are comfortable at slightly higher minimums.

If you want to find out, download Sleepyhead and collect the data. If you want to post some charts then you will get some optimization advice. Instructions are in my signature.

Edit: I just saw that you have sleepyhead, still encourage you to utilize that information to better your therapy if possible.

Best wishes.

This morning I saw the ENT. He indeed diagnosed me with Nasal Valve Collapse.  However, he can not operate on me and recommended a Facial Plastic surgeon with an ENT background.. So I had an apt with one in the afternoon.. And if my insurance approves I will be having surgery on June 21st.  The left side collapses but he will do both sides to make sure everything is strong.  He almost did not want to do it but agreed that since it is causing me symptoms then it has to be done.

I will have my machine June 5th and raise the minimum settings to 5 and the epr to 3.

Best of luck with the surgery and the follow-up. Be sure to check if there are any restrictions on the use of an xPAP device after surgery -- such as how long you must wait before using the machine or potentially impacting the area with a mask.

I think your experiment with the nasal stent giving you substantial relief is a good indicator your surgery should be helpful. Good luck and keep us posted how it goes.

SRLevine raises a very good concern and I think it should be noted.

Stay in touch and best wishes for a speedy recovery and excellent outcomes.
