Set for 5 ramp up to 10cm. The initial sleep study showed that I experienced 21 obstructive apneas 33 hypopneas 1 mixed apnea. the apnea index was 11.4 events per hour. Reported AHI during REM was 43.7 events per hour. the longest respiratory event was 36.5 seconds. The lowest SaO2 reported was 76% and lasted a duration of 41 seconds. I've never been one to quit an endeavor without giving it a chance to work. So I'm going to give it time. Oh and ....apparently, I snore

RE: First night.
So last night was your first night or tonight will be your first night? If it was last night, how did you do?

RE: First night.
Look into installing sleephead (free) so you can see what is going on while you are asleep. I have always had great numbers and had some really bad nights.
Pay attention to what you are feeling. congested? short of breathe? not getting quite enough air? CPAP tends to trigger feelings that we are used to calling something else and need to learn what CPAP settings are causing that same feeling. I also found that once the big things are taken care of, the smaller things that I ignored become more important. There are many adjustments on these CPAP machines and the chances of all the default settings being just right for anyone is pretty slim. Of course for some people not much bothers them and they could sleep through a snow storm |
