New User trying to understand reports
Good day all,

I am new to this and in fact any forum. I have been absolutely fascinated by this forum for about 6 months. The professionalism, knowledge and assistance offered is magic, therefore decided to join and learn. It is about 6 months that I have been using a CPAP machine. It has most certainly changed my life. Prior to using a CPAP machine, I always snored pretty badly. I was diagnosed with COPD about 4 years ago.

In August last I did a sleep test (results attached for completeness) and decided to import my own machine. Pricing is a total rip off in South Africa. I managed to secure a BMC RESmart GII Auto CPAP System with mask and humidifier for around $400. I have been extremely happy with this unit. Easy to use, well made and a lot of great features.

I include a report of the results for the past 6 or so months and would appreciate any response as to how I am doing. Are there any areas I need to be concerned about and should I be looking to adjusting the settings.

Any comments will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
David

Hi David,
Welcome to Apnea Board!

I don’t know too much about your machine, but your therapy results look excellent.

As of now, there doesn’t seem to be a reason to change anything.
The important thing is how you feel when you wake up and during the day.

Thanks for that,

I sleep extremely well. I am slightly tired during the day. I have put that down to less oxygen due to the COPD.

You are using fixed pressure at 7.5 cmH2O with a result of zero events (AHI). It's pretty hard to beat zero. With COPD a bilevel machine with separate inhale pressure and exhale pressure is often an advantage to help do part of the work of respiration and improve ventilation rates. Keep that in mind in case your condition progresses and you need to achieve a higher minute vent or tidal volume. Your machine does not record many respiratory details like tidal volume, but everything we see here, looks as good as it can be.
