New member, test results today, anything I need beware?

RE: New member, test results today, anything I need beware?
In the state I am in, it is considered a conflict of interest for the sleep clinic to act as DME, but it sounds like that is what you have here. CPAP and accouterments are considered to be Durable Medical Equipment and your plan summary should list that coverage in brief.

I would double check the Insurance Network status of the sleep clinic, both as tester and as DME. My Premium PPO plan pays 100% *in network* and 80% after deductible when out of net for Durable Medical Equipment (Providers referred to as DMEs)

Tongue Suck Technique for prevention of mouth breathing:
  • Place your tongue behind your front teeth on the roof of your mouth
  • let your tongue fill the space between the upper molars
  • gently suck to form a light vacuum

Practising during the day can help you to keep it at night

I'm in Michigan, I don't know if they send me to a DME after the test or send me home with whatever they want to, just trying to figure it out beforehand, figure out who I need to convince I am going to choose what I buy Smile

The clinic I'm going to is "in network".

I think maybe a call in to my insurance, maybe they can help me figure this out, they've actually always been pretty helpful before if you can believe it!

awoodby,
This system of diagnosing SA and going through the steps is surprisingly different across the US, and other countries.

I would first check with insurance, find out what they cover. Then call that sleep center, and start asking questions before you go there.

You've stated they send you home with a machine. Find out if that is a trial, and for how long.
