New to CPAP and need some help with mask

Other masks, the same vent hole is sufficient.

I believe the reasoning goes that, for nasal masks and nasal pillows, you can always breathe through your mouth as a fail-safe.

Except with a chinstrap.

I was under the impression that the chinstrap simply provided support for keeping your mouth closed, but you could still open your mouth against the elastic if you really wanted. But I don't have a chinstrap myself, so I could easily be wrong.

Either way, you are going to wake up pretty quickly.

I think you can still open your mouth but the degree of difficulty depends on your strap and how tight it is. Just seems like a liability to me.
